From 2005 until 2010, I kept a website for my thoughts and work in the field of education. Initially subtitled ‘The Collected Ramblings of an ICT Education Officer’ it served as a place to store the training resources for ICT titles I produced for my then employer, to keep a journal of where I was, and what I was thinking – hence ‘whereisab’. Times change though. I had a lot to say about education here, but it didn’t feel the right place to talk about other things. In 2010 I brought it to a close.
The Scottish Schools Digital Network was an ambitious project. Each local authority was to appoint Mentors to train others in its use. I was given a week out of my day job to explain the role in an online Flash resource, changing the way we both explained things online, and recruited staff.
